The CIBER-BBN is one of the eleven thematic areas forming the Centro de Investigación Biomédica en Red (CIBER), a Spanish research consortium in the field of biomedical research, under the Instituto de Salud Carlos III (ISCIII) – Ministry of the Economy, Industry and Competitiveness.

Experience Brought to
Smart-4-Fabry proposal

Four groups of CIBER-BBN participate in the Smart-4-Fabry project:

  1. Molecular Nanoscience and Organic Materials Group (NANOMOL-CSIC) from the Materials Science Institute of Barcelona (ICMAB) of the Spanish Scientific Research Council (CSIC);
  2. Drug Delivery and Targeting Group (GDLF-VHIR) of Vall d’Hebron Research Institute (VHIR);
  3. Peptide Synthesis Unit (UQC-PCB) of the Scientific Park of Barcelona (PCB).
  4. Nanotechnology Group (IBB-UAB) of the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB).
    These CIBER groups, with complementary expertise, have been actively collaborating since 2009.

Role in the project

CIBER-BBN will be the coordinator of the project under the direction of Dr. Nora Ventosa. It will be the lead beneficiary of WP1, WP4 and WP9 and will participate in all the others as well.
